New 7 Wonders of the world

Created by Administrator 4 years ago.

Rules for this challenge:

The sight of the world wonder should be visible in your location picture.

First for this challenge

  • Skipper
  • Rüdi
  • Annony

Because almost all of the ancient wonders of the world cannot be visited anymore (except the pyramids of Giza) some initiative (New7Wonders) started back in 2000 to nominate new wonders of the world. 7 men-made wonders were picked from the 200+ nominees and can be called the new wonders of the world. Unfortunately New7Wonders said it didn't earn anything from the exercise and barely recovered its investment, yet they gave us a nice list of 7 new world wonders.

The list of the 7 new world wonders is:

  • Taj Mahal (Agra, India)
  • Chichen Itza (Yucatan, Mexico)
  • Christ the redeemer (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
  • Colosseum (Rome, Italy)
  • Great wall of china (China)
  • Machu Picchu (Cuzco region, Peru)
  • Petra (Ma'an Governorate, Joran)

Did you ever visit, or plan to visit one of these new world wonders? Then claim your award now to show you visited one of the new 7 wonders of the world!

Annony did this challenge with the spot Dandong (including Great Wall at Tiger Mountain) China

This bit of The Great Wall is in the far north. I managed most of the steps but had to leave my suitcase at the bottom of the mountain. Luckily it was still there when I got back. Yayy

Rüdi did this challenge with the spot The Great Wall of China (Jioumenkou section)

Submitted on: 08 October 2013

The Jiumenkou section of the Great Wall of China is near the most eastern part of the great wall (where the wall meets the sea). This section is part of the UNESCO world heritage and it's not as crowded as other sections nearer to Beijing.

Back in 2011 we visited Rome to see one of these nice "new" wonders :)
