Sziget Fesztivál, the Island of Freedom, Budapest

Date: 12-08-2016
(Added: 20-08-2016)

I've spent a night at Sziget (means island) Fesztivál that is one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe. It is held every August in Budapest, Hungary, on Óbudai-sziget ("Old Buda Island"), a leafy 108-hectare island on the Danube.

I was there for the concert of Manu Chao. :-)
There were a lots of people on the island of course but I've seen only one little dog held in the arms of her/his owner.

Attila domb, the miracle healing hill

Date: 16-06-2016
(Added: 29-07-2016)

It is said that Attila domb (Attila hill) has special, constantly changing electromagnetic and radioactive field and healing power. Since a seriously ill horse got well, patients come here and spend here a few hours to recover. I'm a healthy dog and I did not feel anything of this power but a medick seed stuck in my paw.

Kincsem ("my treasure"), the famous and unbeaten Hungarian racehorse was born here.

There is a plan to rebuild here the wooden palace of Attila and they collect money for this.

Tapolca is a town on Balaton Uplands, in Veszprém County.

There is a 3 km long lake cave system in the heart of the town. We didn't see it 'cause there was a loooong queue waiting for enter the cave.

Malom-tó (Mill Pond) - fed by natural springs - is a romantic part of the town, you can see two photos of it.

And you can see the mill wheel of the watermill of Tapolca, and me with a garden dog. :-)

(Added: 04-09-2013)

As Wiki says Lomnický peak is one of the highest and most visited mountain peaks in the High Tatras Mountains in Slovakia.

You can see me on the peak on the first 2 photos, and on the 3rd photos you can see the peak from Skalnate Pleso that is a beautiful little maar.

You can see the Széchenyi Chain Bridge behind me. The water level of the Danube was high enough.

Lukas in Britain

Date: 18-09-2012
(Added: 08-10-2013)

Lukas spent a week in Britain in 2012. He visited York, London, Chatsworth and some nice little towns.

You can see him in front of the York Minster, what is a cathedral and as Wiki says is one of the largest of its kind in Northern Europe. It has the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in the world.

On the 2nd photo Lukas is seen with a sheep at Treak Cliff Cavern, what is a tourist cave near Castleton in Derbyshire. Blue John, what is a semi-precious mineral, is found only at Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern in the UK.

Buckingham Palace is Buckingham Palace. :-)

Flying to Manchester

(Added: 28-07-2016)

This is an old journey to the UK but I spot the flying part of it now to win a challenge. :-)
I've traveled by a Ryanair plane. As you see the sky was very cloudy on that day.

(Added: 01-09-2013)

The Pasterze can be reached via the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. You can see the glacier on the left of the photo. It is becoming smaller and smaller. Global warming?

You can see more photos of this trip here: Flickr.
