Author's Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental (Bangkok)

(Added: 30-03-2016)

The Mandarin Oriental is one of the most famous hotels in the world. And the Authors's Lounge is a place, where famous writers (Noël Coward, James Michener, Somerset Maugham, Joseph Conrad and many others) been before. It was closed for renovation and re-opened a few weeks before we arrived in Bangkok.

It's a perfect place for an afternoon tea. I was there with my buddy Sepp. He lived in Bangkok for a long time and changed to Chiang Mai recently. Watch out his Facebook page "Sepp - Bangkok Entdecker".

Food is absolutely delicious and the location is great!

Amphawa Floating Market

(Added: 30-11-2015)

Amphawa is a small town south of Bangkok. It is famous for it's floating market. The market starts only on weekends so many people come from Bangkok on weekends to have a good time there. Food vendors prepare delicious Thai food directly on their boats, music is played on some places and there are many shopping opportunities also.

In Amphawa you can go by boat, and I love boat rides. But this time it was raining, and I had to be in the rucksack most of the time.

WFFT (Wildlife Rescue Centre)

Date: 30-11-2015
(Added: 30-11-2015)

The Wildlife Rescue Centre near Hua Hin (Thailand) takes care for harmed animals. They have hundreds of animals (bears, monkeys, elephants, birds. In Thailand many animals have to work, and I feel so sorry for them. WFFT saves for examples animals, who had to carry stupid tourists for many years or monkeys, that lifed on a iron chain.

The Centre can be visited. You have to pay for the daytrip, where you can visit all the animals, wash and feed an elephant and even take a walk with an elephant. The money is important for running the Rescue Centre.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel

(Added: 14-09-2015)

One of the best hotels in Bangkok. The room rate is to expensive for us, but we like to use the public venues, like the lobby, the toilets (haha) and the very nice historic Bamboo Bar. Last time my friend Sepp and I had an excellent dinner buffet at the 'Riverview Terrace'. And both of us were dressed so sharp, as you can see on the pics.

Dad dragged me around Thailand "working" which was very silly, I saw how many Singhas he had.  So while he was out "inspecting a hotel",  I decided to chill by the pool with an adult beverage. Makes up for allof the time I have been stuffed onthe smelly green bag!
